The Background
Cambridge Female Founders Network's members range from first-time founders exploring an idea to those mid-raise. Generic workshop content could not answer the specific questions each founder was facing.
Lucy joined as Expert Advisor to run recurring one-to-one office hours alongside the network’s existing programming.
The Challenge
Advice too generic for the stage
Workshop content was pitched at the average member, leaving founders at either end of the stage spectrum underserved.
No direct line to expert input
Members had few ways to get specific, confidential feedback on their own numbers, deck or pitch.
Limited advisor bandwidth
The network needed a consistent advisor presence it could offer without stretching its own team.
The Solution
Recurring office hour slots
Set up a standing cadence of one-to-one sessions members could book directly, run alongside the network’s existing calendar.
Stage-specific guidance
Each slot works from the founder’s own materials, whether a deck, model, or pitch, rather than generic advice.
A consistent advisory presence
Gave the network a named Expert Advisor its members could return to across multiple sessions.
The Transformation
Direct access to pre-raise guidance
Members get specific, one-to-one feedback rather than general workshop content.
A recurring resource, not a one-off
The advisor role runs as an ongoing part of the network’s offering, not a single session.
Extended reach for the network
The network can point members to expert support without adding to its own team’s workload.
